Three Tech Events for Seniors

Three Events for Seniors new to the Internet or for Seniors lacking some of the fundamentals required to use your computing devices in full confidence. You will be given all of the basic information required to transform you into a Tech Savvy Senior. The Events are as follows:

1) Tech Initiation Events (presently only Pointe-Claire)

This Event is for Seniors with little or no experience with computing devices. The following subjects will be covered:

• Demonstration of software and computing devices.
• Review of peripheral devices (mouse and touchpad ) and the touch screen versus standard screens.

The above demonstration is free of charge. Contact Sylvia Robert, to set up an Event. These Events apply only to seniors living in a public or a private residence or members of an organization that provide services to seniors.

2) Tech Solutions Events (listed by Municipalities )

On a fixed day and time each month e.g. the first Monday of every month a PC Technical Provider in your Municipality will offer Information Sessions on the following:

• The Pros and Cons of various computing devices.
• Keeping your Cell Phone and Internet costs under control.
• Information on security (password management, email and Internet browsing).

3) Cyber Senior Events (West Island of Montreal)

Cyber-Seniors is a tech mentoring program hosting local and international events. Two students at the high school level developed the concept with the goal of bridging the generation gap.

• The Cyber-Senior team organizes mentoring sessions for seniors with students from local high schools.
• They produced an award-winning documentary, which is shown at their Cyber Senior Events.
